How can I see my previous orders?
You can easily view your previous orders by logging into your account through our online customer portal. Once logged in, navigate to the “Order History” or “My Orders” section, where you’ll find details of all your past transactions, including dates, order specifics, and receipts. If you have trouble accessing your account, feel free to contact us directly for assistance!
How does the weight work?
Each Neighborly Hauling dumpster rental includes 1 ton (2,000 lbs) of disposal in the base price. If your load exceeds that, additional weight is charged at $0.035 per pound. We weigh every load at a certified disposal facility and provide documentation to ensure transparency. This pay-for-what-you-use model keeps your upfront cost low while offering flexibility for heavier jobs.
How many days can I rent a bin?
You can rent a bin for up to 14 consecutive days. If you need it longer, we’ll coordinate a pickup and, if needed, replace it with a new bin as a separate order. This helps us keep our equipment in rotation and ensures timely service for all customers.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept multiple forms of payment to make the process as convenient as possible for our customers. You can pay using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and ACH transfers, all processed securely through our online portal.
Why do I have to pay ahead of time?
We ask customers to pay in advance to secure your reservation, guarantee availability, and streamline the delivery process. Advance payment helps us efficiently schedule our services and ensures you have uninterrupted access to your dumpster when you need it. Your payment is securely processed, providing a smooth, hassle-free experience from start to finish.
Why do you need my credit card?
We require your credit card to secure your reservation and ensure timely processing of your dumpster rental. Your card details allow us to easily manage transactions, cover rental fees, and handle any additional charges that might occur, such as extra days or overweight fees. Rest assured, your payment information is securely processed through our trusted and encrypted online payment portal.
Why is there a delivery charge?
We apply a delivery charge for locations over 10 miles away to help cover additional costs related to fuel, vehicle maintenance, and driver time. This fee ensures we can continue to reliably offer efficient, timely dumpster delivery services while maintaining fair and transparent pricing for all customers.
Rental Process
Do I need to be there for drop off or pickup?
Nope! You don’t need to be on-site for delivery or pickup. Just make sure the drop-off area is clear and accessible, and include any special placement instructions when you book. We’ll handle the rest with care—including ground protection—so you can stay focused on your project.
How does the rental work?
Renting a dumpster with Neighborly Hauling is simple and hassle-free:
Choose Your Bin – Select from 12, 17, 21, or 25-yard bins based on your project size.
Book Online – Schedule your rental through our easy-to-use website with upfront pricing and secure checkout.
We Deliver – We drop off the bin at your location with care, including HDPE ground protection to safeguard your property.
You Fill It – Load the bin at your own pace. Each rental includes 1 ton of disposal and up to 14 days.
We Pick It Up – When you’re done, we haul it away and handle the disposal—charging only for extra weight if needed if all our t&c’s are met.
We focus on upscale areas, tight spaces, and high service standards. Licensed, registered, and insured—Neighborly Hauling makes dumpster rental easy and reliable.
What if I fill the bin and need another one?
No problem! Just let us know when your bin is full, and we’ll schedule a container swap—we’ll pick up the full bin and drop off a new one. Each swap is treated as a new rental. It’s an easy way to keep your project moving without interruption.
What if I go above the fill line?
If your bin is overfilled, we’ll do our best to safely level the contents for pickup. However, any debris that falls out due to uneven or excessive loading cannot be collected, and overfilled bins may be subject to additional time and wear-and-tear fees. To avoid delays and extra charges, please keep all materials level with the top edge of the container.
What if I'm done early?
If you finish with your dumpster before the end of your rental period, just let us know—we’ll schedule an early pickup at no extra cost. While we don’t offer refunds for unused days, we’re happy to get the bin out of your way as soon as you’re ready.
What ground protection do you use?
We include Rolliskate HDPE pads with every delivery on concrete or asphalt to protect your surface from scratches and scuffs.
For dirt or gravel placements, we use heavy-duty landscape mats, which provide added stability and protect both your property and our bins. Placement on these surfaces is an upcharge due to the extra materials and care required—but it ensures your site stays clean and damage-free.
What items are prohibited?
Prohibited items in Neighborly Hauling dumpsters include hazardous materials such as chemicals, paints, oils, asbestos, and solvents. Other items like electronics, appliances containing Freon, medical waste, and any flammable or explosive substances are also not allowed. For a full list of prohibited materials, please refer to our guidelines or contact us for more details.

Terms & Conditions
As the renter, what are my responsibilities?
As a Neighborly Hauling customer, your responsibilities include:
Filling the bin properly: Keep materials level with the top edge. Overfilling can lead to extra fees or unsafe conditions.
Using the bin for approved materials only: No hazardous, prohibited, or mixed waste (see our guidelines for details).
Protecting the bin: You’re responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear during the rental period.
Ensuring access: Keep the area clear for safe delivery and pickup.
Following local laws: As we’re a licensed hauler, customers must comply with local disposal regulations.
These simple steps help ensure a smooth, safe, and professional rental experience for everyone.
I see an extra charge, why?
Extra charges may appear on your invoice for a few common reasons, including:
Additional Weight: If your bin exceeded the included 1-ton amount, you’ll see a charge of $0.035 per pound over.
Extra Rental Days: Rentals include up to 14 days. Additional days are billed at $10-$25 per day.
Prohibited or Special Materials: Items like mattresses, tires, appliances, or yard waste may carry extra disposal fees.
Overfilled Bin: If materials exceeded the fill line, you may be charged for additional handling, time, or wear-and-tear.
Dry Run or Accessibility Issues: If the bin couldn’t be picked up due to obstructions, a $100 dry run fee may apply.
All charges are outlined in your order agreement, and we provide documentation (including weight slips or photos) for transparency. If you have questions, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to review any charges with you!
What happens if the dumpster is damaged in my possession?

If a Neighborly Hauling dumpster is damaged while in your possession, you are responsible for covering the cost of repairs or replacement. This includes damage to the exterior paint, decals, door hinges, steel rollers, container rails, or any other part of the dumpster. Specific charges apply for various types of damage, such as:
Container Damage Fee: Full cost of repairs plus a 10% upcharge for administrative handling.
Tire Damage Fee: Full repair cost plus a 10% upcharge if the damage is caused by nails, glass, or debris at the customer site.
Fire Damage: A replacement fee of $4,000 to $5,000 if the dumpster is significantly damaged by fire.
Latch Damage Fee: The cost of repairs plus $10 per day if the dumpster is out of service.
Steel Penetration Fee: The cost to repair any significant structural damage, plus up to $10 per day for downtime.
Please ensure proper care is taken while the dumpster is on your property to avoid these charges. Normal wear and tear, such as minor scratches inside the dumpster, is expected and does not incur extra fees.
What happens if my property is damaged by Neighborly Hauling?
At Neighborly Hauling, we take every precaution to protect your property—including using HDPE ground protection and careful placement techniques. However, due to the nature of heavy equipment and materials, some risk of minor damage exists, especially on soft surfaces like grass, gravel, or decorative driveways.
If damage occurs due to negligence on our part, we’ll work with you to make it right. That said, by accepting service, customers acknowledge that they assume the risk for normal wear, marks, or damage associated with delivery, placement, or removal—particularly when bins are requested in sensitive areas like yards, garages, or tight driveways.
We’re fully insured, and our team is trained to minimize risk, but please contact us ahead of time with any concerns or special placement instructions—we’re happy to help!

Why do you charge a sort fee?
We charge a sort fee when prohibited or mixed materials are placed in the dumpster and must be separated to comply with Kent County and State of Michigan disposal regulations. Sorting takes extra time, labor, and handling—especially for items like:
Yard waste mixed with construction debris
Appliances, tires, or mattresses not disclosed in advance
Electronics or hazardous items requiring special handling
To keep your costs low and avoid fees, we recommend reviewing our Accepted Materials Guide before loading your bin. If unsure, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to help you plan your load correctly and avoid extra charges.
Why were items left in my driveway?
If items were left behind after pickup, it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:
Overfilled or Improperly Loaded Bin: Materials that were stacked above the fill line or loosely packed may fall out during transport. For safety and legal reasons, our drivers cannot haul overloaded bins and are unable to collect spilled items.
Prohibited Items: If your bin included restricted materials (like hazardous waste, electronics, or yard waste mixed with general debris), those items may have been removed and left behind to comply with local disposal laws.
Blocked or Unsafe Access: If a safe pickup wasn’t possible, we may leave the bin in place or leave certain materials until conditions are resolved.
We always aim to leave your site clean and safe. If something was left behind and you’re unsure why, please contact us—we’ll be happy to explain and help resolve it!
